About the Speaker:-

Dr. Sudheendra Rao N R, is a physician-scientist with MBBS from Mysore Medical College. He finished PhD in molecular neuroscience from the National Brain Research Centre, Manesar, India following his medical practice and non-course neurology residency at NIMHANS, Bangalore. During his doctoral studies he pursued research on a rare neurodegenerative epilepsy. For his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Miami, Florida, USA, he focused on cell and gene therapy for spinal cord injury. On Returning to India, he worked briefly at NCBS Bangalore and then served as Chief Scientific Officer for a cell therapy biotech company in Bangalore. He has over 19 years of experience in the drug development process covering clinical research, pre-clinical research, GMP manufacturing, GLP studies, regulatory submissions, GCP and ethics. He is keen on understanding the pathophysiology of rare genetic disorders and working on therapeutic solutions for it through collaborations. Currently, he works for a Healthcare Company in Bengaluru and also been serving as a Scientific Advisor to the Organization of Rare Diseases India, for the last 3 years, contributing to the advancement of rare disease research in India.
